The Little Heart Mender
Once upon a time, when people still had a heart inside of them...
Once upon a time, long long ago, when people still believed in angles and fairytales.
In that time, at the border of a great forest, there was a big tree where all those who had their hearts broken and cracked colud leave them there for a while for mending.
Inside the tree there leaved the spirit of a little girl who got out of her hiding place every night and mended the hearts, making them brand new and warm, able to feel joy and to love again. She then put them into tiny little boxes and sent a crow to deliver them to the owners.
The little mender had to work harder than ever just before the Christmas Eve, because at that time, many more persons realized that they really wanted their hearts to be filled with joy and happiness...
As centuries passed, people didn't believe anymore in love and therefore, they didn't realize that their hearts were mutilated by the hatred and ugliness of the world. They didn't need the little mender anymore. Most of them managed to get to a respectable age with a stone in their chest instead of heart, without filling its heaviness and its coldness.
The little mender was totally forgotten. Nobody can tell where's the tree where she lived or if she still lives or not. Maybe the tree was cut by the wood industry and the little mender died because the world doesn't believe in feelings anymore...
