My dream

Another work made for Deviant Art. It took me quite some time to make it, but now that it's finally done, I have a feeling of sympathy towards it. Enjoy :)

Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata

And than I thought to myself... "even Beethoven has gone deaf... Even the piano will crumble one day and the eternal silence will come, even you will lose your eyesight and won't be able to taste the beauty of this world with your eyes. You won't see the light of the sun ever again, won't see your lover's face anymore, won't enjoy the colors of the flowers and the softness of these big white clouds over a summer field... Won't see the rough texture of the trees' bark, the dew diamonds on the grass blades in the morning... Because you'll simply stumble in a total darkness, powerless, helpless, pathetic, pitiful. But there's one thing you can do until the black curtain falls: you can build a world that darkness cannot destroy, a world made from light and beauty, where nobody can enter, but you. You can expand it day by day by day until the moment will come for you to leave this dreadful place."

In a girl's mind

Another introspective work, sort of. You can take it either as the mind of a normal girl who dreams about ice cream and lollipops ( many girls love sweets, me included ;))or you can take it as the brain of an artist, full of color and strange combinations between different scraps.

If you really want to have this as a desktop wallpaper, I can give it to you, but only if you write me at the email address written on it. :)

quarterlife

I've discovered a "fresh" sitcom called quarterlife. It's about young people trying to find their own place in this big chaotic world, which is governed by rules they sometimes don't understand or accept. They are childish and mature all the same as they learn how to deal with life issues such as finding a job, managing their romantic life, and fighting for their rights and opinions.

I relate with many things from every episode ( which, by the way, lasts only 10 minutes, quite enough to enjoy during a coffee break).

The best thing about it all is that nothing is ( so far) fake or idealized. Everything is at our reach, 'cause we all know that we've been there before.

And another great thing about this sitcom is that it promotes art and undiscovered artists... That's the main reason why I'm advertising it :))

So... check it out. Maybe you'll relate too.

My Christmas Card to all of you

The Little Heart Mender
Once upon a time, when people still had a heart inside of them...
Once upon a time, long long ago, when people still believed in angles and fairytales.
In that time, at the border of a great forest, there was a big tree where all those who had their hearts broken and cracked colud leave them there for a while for mending.

Inside the tree there leaved the spirit of a little girl who got out of her hiding place every night and mended the hearts, making them brand new and warm, able to feel joy and to love again. She then put them into tiny little boxes and sent a crow to deliver them to the owners.

The little mender had to work harder than ever just before the Christmas Eve, because at that time, many more persons realized that they really wanted their hearts to be filled with joy and happiness...

As centuries passed, people didn't believe anymore in love and therefore, they didn't realize that their hearts were mutilated by the hatred and ugliness of the world. They didn't need the little mender anymore. Most of them managed to get to a respectable age with a stone in their chest instead of heart, without filling its heaviness and its coldness.

The little mender was totally forgotten. Nobody can tell where's the tree where she lived or if she still lives or not. Maybe the tree was cut by the wood industry and the little mender died because the world doesn't believe in feelings anymore...

Ada Milea, Ninge

Ding ding ding
Ding ding ding
Ding ding ding
Ding ding ding

Ninge-asa frumos afara
Lumea s-a inchis in casa
Si infipta in mancare
E mai grasa, mai frumoasa

Ding ding ding
Ding ding ding
Ding ding ding
Ding ding ding

Copilasii unsurosi
Se strecoara-n asternuturi
Si cu pofta de sub unghii
Clantane si-nghit rebuturi

Ding ding ding
Ding ding ding

Iar parintii se imbata
Sorb cu zgomot din pocale
Sfasaie cu dintii lacomi
Bucati din foste-animale

Si se simt mai buni si veseli
Pentru ca e sarbatoare
Fericirea lor de pinde
Ding ding ding
Doar de mancare

Ding ding ding
Ding ding ding
Ding ding ding
Ding ding ding

Mos Craciun c-un sac de daruri
Trecea-ngandurat pe-afara
O familie de sarmani
L-a rapit si il prepara

Iar acum cu bucurie
Va anunt: ·Lumea-i mai buna!·
Suntem toti in farfurie
Ding ding ding
Pofta buna
Ding ding dïng
Pofta buna

Translation:
Ding ding ding...

It's snowing so beautifully outside
Everybody has locked themselves in the house
And with their tooth stuck in the food
They are fatter and more charming

Ding ding ding

Greasy children
Go to bed
And cravingly,they shiver
And swallow rests
From under their nails

And their parents get drunk
Gulping noisily from mugs
And ripping greedily
Pieces from once animals

Ding ding ding

And they all feel better and chipper
Because it's holiday again
Their happiness depends
Ding ding ding
Only on food

Ding ding ding

Santa with a sac of presents
Was passing by, preoccupied
But he was kidnapped by a poor family
And know he is being cooked

And now, with joy,
I announce you:
The world is better
Because we're all lying on a plate
Ding ding ding
Bon apetit!
Ding ding ding
Bon apetit!

Sorry, my translation is really poor, but I hope you get the main picture. Is actually a sort of anti-carol, because it puts us in front of the enormous greed that characterizes people in the period of Winter Holidays.
At least, in Romania, in order to respect the custom, you have to spend the last penny on food and drink. Bon apetit! :)

romanian christmas carol...

And here comes another wonderful Christmas... Another time to celebrate, to give and to receive, to forgive, to believe... I really guess that in these times of consumerism, the accent is on give and receive. What? Love, care, tenderness? Now, folks, don't be naive :)) Presents, of course. Is love a tangible present? Something one can put in a box? Of course not... You have to prove it by buying something quite expensive and luxurious to your belove, right/ So, my darlings, attack the supermarkets, the malls and find something nice, something desired, a dress, a ring, a necklace. BUY, BUY, BUY, BUY. You don't have the money? BORROW them. The main thing about Christmas is to BUY THE WHOLE WORLD, right?

And thus we forget... we forget that some 2000 years ago, a man that probably changed our entire perception of life and death, of wealth and poverty, was being born in the most humble place in Bethlehem, a stable. No electricity, no roasted turkey on the table, no pudding, no pie.
There was a small group that witnessed his birth, people that really mattered. Shepherds, because he was to become a "shepherd" for humans, his human "parents", the angels, who were heavenly emissaries and in the end, the three Magi.

And as years pass, we forget. We forget to give to persons that really matter and to give things that really matter. I'm going to post a small Romanian carol, a modern Romanian carol, written by a person I really admire, Ada Milea. It's called "It's Snowing". And I'm going to translate it for you, maybe you'll find it interesting.
